sunday, may 4th

...not much to write about. we walked up and down whyte ave and the parallel back alleys and visited the "craft & art fair"...

...another painted connection panel...

...cars here do not have to be inspected every year. in fact, if you buy a car in this province, you never (!) have to go to an inspection...
...doesn't look very inviting, does it? I doubt it's different, when it's open... =)
but we'll go there some day during opening hours and see if you can get something at least a bit authentic...
...seagulls, seagulls everywhere! where is the ocean!
...a walk for the people in darfur...

...and the rather ridiculous craft & art fair...the total area of the venue was at least 120 squaremetres :o)

last saturday...

well, what should I say...it was the first really warm day and also the first time we
spent some time in a park here in edmonton - the hawrelak park;
a friend of jini took us there...n. is a very nice girl; she's going to europe for 6 weeks pretty soon
and after her return we will, hopefully, go on a short camping-trip with her.
we're really looking forward to that! I already even have a "bear-bell" to keep bears away (hope it works!)

weekends are really much more relaxing if you can go outside and enjoy the sun for a bit =)
so, we lay in the sun, chatted and played frisbee for a while...

we had in mind to go for dinner after that - however, before going there we went to starbucks for our first
authentic starbucks experience (it's so much cheaper here compared to austrian starbucks)...we parked in front
of the restaurant we went to later - a nice greek place - and then tried to find the starbucks by foot.
nothing here is built for pedestrians, the shops/restaurants are way too far away from each other and if you want
to go there by foot, you have to go through several risky streetcrossing maneuvers...

thereafter we macheted our way back from starbucks to the greek restaurant (called "koutouki ouzeri").
the food was more than delicious! we took only the entrees, because the main courses were rather expensive, but
I think it was a good decision. that way we could try more different dishes, of which the spinach with feta and tomatoes
was definitely an outstanding one...

too much of a talking ;o) here some pictures:
